Softball Game Preview: Bella Vista Broncos vs. Vista del Lago Eagles

Bella Vista is 2-7 against Vista del Lago since February of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Broncos are taking a road trip to face off against the Eagles at 4:00 p.m. Vista del Lago took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Bella Vista, who comes in off a win.

On Tuesday, Bella Vista made easy work of Rio Americano and carried off a 9-1 win. The victory continues a trend for the Broncos in their matchups with the Raiders: they've now won four in a row.

Gianna Gambone and Taytum Thayne did most of the damage at the plate: Gambone went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs, while Thayne got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and two RBI. That's the most RBI Thayne has posted since back in March. Patcy Keizer was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one run.

Bella Vista always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rio Americano only posted an OBP of .333.

Meanwhile, Vista del Lago was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against Ponderosa, falling 11-1. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last six times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Vista del Lago saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Riley Dossey, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one RBI.

The win got Bella Vista back to even at 12-12. As for Vista del Lago, their loss dropped their record down to 7-10.

Bella Vista couldn't quite get it done against Vista del Lago in their previous matchup on April 4th as they fell 6-3. Can the Broncos avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
