Volleyball Recap: Yesenia Alegre Key Part of Team Effort in Golden Eagles Win

Lone Pine won the last time they faced Lee Vining and things went their way on Monday too. The Golden Eagles put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 3-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Golden Eagles.

Lone Pine walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the third set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-20, 25-9.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lone Pine to victory, but perhaps none more so than Yesenia Alegre, who had 11 kills, four digs, and two blocks. That's the most digs Alegre has posted over her last three contests. Camila Martinez was another key player, getting five kills, four aces, and three digs.

Lone Pine was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in three consecutive matchups.

Lone Pine's victory bumped their record up to 8-11-2. As for Lee Vining, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

Looking ahead, Lone Pine will square off against Mojave at 5:00 p.m. on October 1. As for Lee Vining, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Immanuel Christian on the 26th.
