Baseball Recap: Howard Tech Gets the Win

Howard Tech won against Berean Academy last Tuesday with 17 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Howard Tech Hustlin' Tigers came out on top against the Lookout Valley Yellowjackets by a score of 17-12. This was payback for the Hustlin' Tigers, who suffered a 22-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

The team relied heavily on Sean Besley, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases, four runs, and four RBI. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in stolen bases. Another player making a difference was Marques Blackburn, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-4.

The win made it two in a row for Howard Tech and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.0 runs over those games. As for Lookout Valley, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

Howard Tech will have a chance to go back-to-back against Lookout Valley: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
