Football Recap: Alyssa Cowart Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Our Lady of Mercy

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Eastridge walked away with it. They snuck past the Our Lady of Mercy Monarchs with a 20-16 win on Thursday.

Eastridge's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Alyssa Cowart, who rushed for 125 yards and one TD on only 12 carries, and also picked up 60 receiving yards. Sadie O'Neill was another key signal caller, throwing for 160 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Eastridge didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. Madyson Fizer led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by herself.

The victory got Eastridge back to even at 6-6-2. As for Our Lady of Mercy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Eastridge will take on Webster Schroeder at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Warriors will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something the Lancers surely won't give up without a fight. Our Lady of Mercy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
