Softball Recap: Mishawaka Continues Home Dominance on Wednesday

Mishawaka had won five straight at home, but on Wednesday they bumped up to 18-5 to make it six. They put the hurt on the Warsaw Tigers with a sharp 12-1 victory. The Cavemen might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by six runs or more this season.

Mishawaka got a massive performance out of Holly Shine, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI Shine has posted since back in May of 2025. Another player making a difference was Lilly Hein, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Mishawaka always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .593. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matchups.

As for Warsaw, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-16 record this season. That's two games in a row now that they have lost by exactly 11 runs.

On Warsaw's side, they saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Raegan Robinson, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base. Robinson has been hot for a while, having posted at least one stolen base the last 15 times she's played.

Coming up, Mishawaka will head out on the road to square off against Columbia City at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Warsaw, they have already played their next game, a 6-5 win against Concord on the 21st.
