Basketball Recap: Isaiah Warner's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Pine View over Hurricane

Pine View has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They received a blow on Friday as they fell 67-51 to the Hurricane Tigers. The Panthers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Tigers earlier this season, when they won 66-61.

Several Panthers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Isaiah Warner, who posted nine points and eight rebounds. Those eight boards gave Warner a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Adam Moore, who had 15 points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hurricane to victory, but perhaps none more so than RJ Hurst, who went 7 of 15 on his way to 20 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Brigham Kemp, who went 8 for 14 en route to 19 points.

Pine View's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-6. As for Hurricane, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-7.

Pine View will head out to square off against Desert Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Desert Hills is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.9 points per game this season. As for Hurricane, they will welcome Cedar at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hurricane is facing Cedar at the right time seeing as Cedar is stuck on a ten-game losing streak.
