Basketball Recap: Oak Grove Takes a Loss

Oak Grove was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 18th straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by the Dora Bulldogs 55-18. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 450th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 149th).

Leading Dora to victory were Bella Reese and Ja'Laya Harris. Reese posted 17 points along with eight assists and five boards, while Harris put up 18 points and four steals. Reese is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 13 games she's played. Millicent Wilson was another key player, putting up six points in addition to six rebounds and five steals.

Oak Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 0-17. As for Dora, they pushed their record up to 21-9 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home.

Oak Grove will challenge Fairfield at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Oak Grove is facing Fairfield at the right time seeing as Fairfield is stuck on a nine-game losing streak. Dora does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
