Volleyball Recap: Avon Orioles vs. Zionsville Eagles

Avon lost against Zionsville back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Orioles came up short against the Eagles, falling 3-0. The Orioles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

While Avon was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Zionsville's winning margin in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-5, 25-12, 25-18.

James Butler paced Avon's offense, picking up two kills. Butler got some help from Cameron James and his four assists.

Carter Miller was the offensive standout of the game as he had 11 digs and two aces. That's the most digs he has posted since back in May of 2024. Chris Hardt also deserves some recognition as he served his first aces of the season.

Avon's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Zionsville, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-2.

Avon wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Franklin Central on the 17th. As for Zionsville, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-2 victory against Indianapolis Bishop Chatard on the 14th.
