League recap: West Stokes extends undefeated streak to six games

2A/1A Northwest's longest active winning streak belongs to
West Stokes (21-2, 13-1), undefeated over its last six games. The streak was extended by another 2 games over the past week, includinga 9-4 win over North Stokes.
South Stokes went from 159 to 149 in the national rankings since last week after going 2-0 in the past seven days.
Surry Central's pitching was especially stingy this week, allowing 14 hits and five walks to lead the league in both categories. The Golden Eagles have given up a mere 193 hits on the year in addition to compiling 205 strikeouts.
Hunter Smith is the leader in that category with 93 Ks on the season.
