Basketball Recap: Okeechobee Comes Up Short

Okeechobee was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They were beaten by the Sebastian River Sharks 71-22. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since January 10, 2018, but that streak is no more.

Okeechobee's defeat dropped their record down to 4-17. As for Sebastian River, their victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 10-13.

Looking ahead, Okeechobee won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against South Fork at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sebastian River, they will also get right back to it: they'll challenge Lake Mary Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Sharks' defense better be ready for this one: the Griffins have averaged an impressive 60.6 points per game this season.
