Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Cheraw couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell just short of the East Clarendon Wolverines by a score of  4-3 on Thursday. The Braves' loss signaled the end of their 12-game winning streak.
 Cheraw saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Terrence Blackmon, who  went 2-for-4 with one  run and one  double.
Cheraw's defeat dropped their record down to 22-4. As for East Clarendon, the  win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 22-6.
 Looking ahead, Cheraw will challenge Woodland at 12:00  p.m.  on Saturday. The Wolverines have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.68  runs per game on average), something the Braves will no doubt try to take advantage of. East Clarendon does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
