Basketball Recap: Jefferson Christian Academy Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

Jefferson Christian Academy kicked off their season on the road on Thursday and hit a couple of potholes. They were beaten by the Midfield Patriots 101-27. The Eagles lost against the Patriots in their previous head to head back in November of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 85-52 score last time.

Jefferson Christian Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Colt Willmon, who posted 16 points. Another player making a difference was Josh Marshall, who earned 11 points and four blocks.

Aaron Adams-Martin was a one-man wrecking crew For Midfield. as he went 14-for-18 on his way to 34 points in addition to eight boards and six assists. Those 34 points gave Adams-Martin a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Clarence Woods, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and ten rebounds.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jefferson Christian Academy will head out to square off against Holy Family Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Midfield, they will venture away from home to face off against Fairfield at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
