Baseball Game Preview: Rutherford Bulldogs vs. Harrison Blue Tide

Rutherford has gone a perfect 4-0 against Harrison recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Bulldogs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Blue Tide at 4:00 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

On Wednesday, Rutherford got the win against Hasbrouck Heights by a conclusive 13-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bulldogs.

Noah Anderson looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Andrew Erickson, who scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Tran, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Harrison had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They never let Paterson Charter School for Science and Technology get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory on Wednesday. The Blue Tide not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 1, 2024.

Everything went Rutherford's way against Harrison in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Rutherford made off with a 12-0 win. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Blue Tide have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
