Basketball Recap: Daleville Skates Past Muncie Burris with Ease

Daleville fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They took their contest on Saturday with ease, bagging a 78-33 victory over the Muncie Burris Owls. This was payback for the Broncos, who suffered a 74-40 loss the last time these two teams met.

Daleville got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Hunter Suchyna out in front who went 9 for 17 en route to 26 points and three steals. The matchup was Suchyna's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Wilson, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 24 boards.

Daleville smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Several Owls players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sam Isom, who posted six points. Another player making a difference was Matthew Hardy, who earned nine points and five rebounds.

Daleville's victory bumped their record up to 4-9. As for Muncie Burris, they dropped their record down to 1-13 with the defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Daleville will venture away from home to take on Randolph Southern at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Daleville is facing Randolph Southern at the right time seeing as Randolph Southern is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Muncie Burris, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Anderson Prep Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Anderson Prep Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.2 points per game this season.
