Baseball Recap: Skaneateles Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Westhill, Skaneateles was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 9-2 margin over the Jordan-Elbridge Eagles. The Lakers haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Sean Olley was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Olley was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those runs marked the first that he has scored this season.

In other batting news, Shea Musso was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That double marked the first that he has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Torin Bennett, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Skaneateles' first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Jordan-Elbridge, the loss was their first at home , dropping their record down to 3-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Skaneateles will square off against Mexico at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Jordan-Elbridge, they will face off against Weedsport at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
