Football Recap: Harlem Starts Season with Win Against Greenbrier

Harlem gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Greenbrier Wolfpack a 26-0 shutout. The win continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Wolfpack: they've now won five in a row.

Mercer Barton threw for 145 yards and one touchdown while completing 85.7% of his passes. Jayden Futrell was his top target, picking up 116 receiving yards. On the ground, Keaton Tillery rushed for 51 yards and one TD.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Harlem is headed away from home for the first time to face off against Washington-Wilkes at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Greenbrier, they will head out to take on Grovetown at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
