Basketball Recap: Durham School of the Arts Comes Up Short

After soaring to 57 points the game before, Durham School of the Arts was a bit more limited in their matchup on Tuesday. They took a 33-22 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Riverside-Durham Pirates. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Pirates apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2021.

Despite the loss, Durham School of the Arts saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Faith Yon posted 13 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. That was a full 59.1% of Durham School of the Arts' points, marking the fifth time in a row she's put up more than a third of the team's points.

Durham School of the Arts' defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Riverside-Durham, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Durham School of the Arts didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 55-31 loss against Cedar Ridge on the 6th. Riverside-Durham has also already played their next contest, a 57-23 defeat against St. Mary's on the 10th.
