Softball Recap: Riverside Takes a Loss

After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last four matches, Riverside finally came back down to earth on Friday. They came up short against the Miami East Vikings, falling 13-1. The Pirates have struggled against the Vikings recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.

Riverside saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Keira Manahan, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Riverside's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 8-3. As for Miami East, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 7-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Riverside will host Newton Local at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Miami East, they will welcome Butler at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
