Baseball Game Preview: Circle Thunderbirds vs. Andover Trojans

The Circle Thunderbirds are taking a road trip to square off against the Andover Trojans on Thursday. Circle's pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so Andover's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Circle lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Rose Hill, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Monday's matchup. The Thunderbirds were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Rockets on Monday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Thunderbirds needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

William Wolf looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit.

Circle hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Andover was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against Valley Center, falling 8-2.

Andover's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Circle, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-6.

Circle couldn't quite get it done against Andover in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 as they fell 3-0. Can the Thunderbirds avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
