Soccer Recap: Monterey Takes a Loss

Monterey and Gonzales squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Monterey had to settle for second. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Gonzales Spartans. If the Dores were looking for revenge after losing 9-1 to them when the teams met back in January of 2020, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Monterey's loss dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Gonzales, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season.

Monterey does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Gonzales, they will challenge Pioneer on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Pioneer sitting on three straight wins and Gonzales on ten.
