Basketball Recap: Clovis Comes Up Short

Clovis was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat. They lost 82-62 to the Clovis West Golden Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 452nd, while the Golden Eagles are ranked 103rd).

Jace Kellogg continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Clovis West, going 13 for 19 on his way to 28 points along with six boards and three steals. That's the most points Kellogg has posted since back in December of 2024. Dj Stickman was another key player, dropping a double-double with 15 points and ten rebounds.

Clovis' loss dropped their record down to 9-19. As for Clovis West, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 13-15 record this season.

Clovis didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 64-62 defeat against Central on the 11th. As for Clovis West, they have also already played their next game, an 82-77 loss against Clovis North on the 11th.
