Football Recap: Pickens Blue Flame vs. Easley Green Wave
Pickens gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They snuck past the Easley Green Wave with a 47-41 win. The victory was some much needed relief for the Blue Flame as it spelled an end to their seven-game losing streak dating back to last season.
Despite the loss, Easley still got an impressive performance from Jay Stoker, who threw for 408 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.7 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 82 yards and a touchdown. Kadin Davis was Stoker's top target, picking up 237 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Pickens will venture away from home to square off against Walhalla at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Pickens is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses dating back to last season. As for Easley, they will be defending their home-field for the first time for the first time when they go up against Wren at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Easley is looking for their season?s first win.
