Baseball Game Preview: St. Peter Saints vs. Byron Bears

The St. Peter Saints will take on the Byron Bears at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

St. Peter is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 13 runs on Thursday, they were much more limited against New Ulm on Friday. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 4-2.

Meanwhile, Byron didn't have quite enough to beat Kasson-Mantorville on Thursday and fell 4-3. The loss put an end to the Bears' undefeated start to the season.

St. Peter's loss ended a seven-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 1-2. As for Byron, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

St. Peter was able to grind out a solid victory over Byron in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, winning 6-1. Do the Saints have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bears turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
