Soccer Game Preview: Carroll County vs. Glenvar

Carroll County hasn't had much luck against Glenvar recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Cavaliers will look to defend their home pitch against the Highlanders at 7:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Carroll County comes in on five and Glenvar on 13.

On Thursday, Carroll County had just enough and edged out Galax 4-3. The victory was all the more spectacular given Carroll County's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 151st, while Galax are ranked 41st).

Meanwhile, Glenvar kept a clean sheet against Cave Spring on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 5-0 margin over the Knights. The result was nothing new for Glenvar, who have now won 11 matchups by four goals or more so far this season.

They hit Cave Spring with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Tyler Curfiss (2), Ryder Francisco, Henry Schruth, and Levi King.

Glenvar's win bumped their record up to 13-0-1. As for Carroll County, they now have a winning record of 6-5-2.
