Football Recap: Nathan Hale Takes a Loss

Nathan Hale had lost four straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped down to 4-5 to make it five. They took a blow against the Collinsville Cardinals, falling 50-16. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Rangers of the 48-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in November of 2024.

Although Nathan Hale took the loss, they still got scores from Nizyah Abraham, James Hutchins, and Jordan Deroin.

Nathan Hale didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Abraham and Hutchins. Hutchins got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

As for Collinsville, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season. The result was nothing new for Collinsville, who have now won six games by 20 points or more so far this season.

Collinsville got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Beau Daniels out in front who rushed for 53 yards and three TDs on only six carries, and also picked up 38 receiving yards. Carter Vaughan was another key passer, throwing for 371 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Nathan Hale didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 49-20 loss against Tahlequah on the 6th. As for Collinsville, they have also already played their next contest, a 63-6 victory against Memorial on the 7th.
