Basketball Recap: Wildorado Mustangs vs. Texline Tornadoes
After a string of three wins, the Wildorado Mustangs's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They were dealt a 71-26 loss at the hands of Texline. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Wildorado in their matchups with the Tornadoes: they've now lost eight in a row.
It was another big night for Hayden Drumm, who went 9 for 13 from beyond the arc en route to 33 points and 1 assist for Texline. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Drumm has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Joe Clay, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Wildorado's loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 25-4. As for Texline, the win (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 26-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wildorado will face off against the Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Pringle-Morse will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 1274th, while the Mustangs are ranked 451st). Texline's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th. Hartley is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
