Malvern Prep had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 9-2 margin over the Episcopal Academy Churchmen. The Friars have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Churchmen, too.

Malvern Prep got a great performance from Collin Romanczuk as he struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and only one walk).

On the hitting side, Brady Abate was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Jalen Bowman was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

Malvern Prep pushed their record up to 13-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Episcopal Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Malvern Prep will square off against rival Germantown Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Friars 3, the Patriots 2.2) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Episcopal Academy is set to challenge their familiar foe William Penn Charter at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
