Basketball Recap: Valley Torah Wolfpack vs. Mesivta Mustangs

Valley Torah saw some tournament action on Friday. They took a 55-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mesivta Mustangs. While losing is never fun, the Wolfpack can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 776th in California, while the Mustangs are ranked 299th in Pennsylvania).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mesivta to victory, but perhaps none more so than Dov Hirsch, who posted 23 points. The contest was Hirsch's sixth in a row with at least 15 points. Tzvi Bril was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with 14 points and nine rebounds.

This is the second loss in a row for Valley Torah and nudges their season record down to 16-14. As for Mesivta, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 16 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season.

Valley Torah does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mesivta, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 65-40 defeat against Tournament Opponent on the 29th.
