The Mountain Ridge Sentinels will face off against the Corner Canyon Chargers at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Mountain Ridge will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Mountain Ridge won the last time they faced Herriman, and Xander Colemere did his part to make sure it happened again. The Sentinels walked away with a 3-1 win over the Mustangs on Tuesday with plenty of help from Colemere, who had 13 digs and two assists. He is on a roll when it comes to digs, as he's now had ten or more in each of the last three games he's played.
While Mountain Ridge might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Herriman scored at least 21 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-23, 26-28, 25-23, 25-21.
Meanwhile, Corner Canyon faced Bingham in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Chargers fell just short of the Miners by a score of 3-2. That makes it the first time this season the Chargers have let down their home crowd.
Corner Canyon took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-19, 25-27, 25-13, 15-6.
Corner Canyon's defeat dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Mountain Ridge, their victory bumped their record up to 13-2.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Thursday's match: Mountain Ridge has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 5.7 aces per game. However, it's not like Corner Canyon struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.8 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Mountain Ridge was able to grind out a solid win over Corner Canyon in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, winning 3-1. Do the Sentinels have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Chargers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
