Volleyball Recap: South County's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Three

South County entered their tilt with Lake Braddock on Thursday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Bruins. That's more bragging rights for the Stallions, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

South County walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the second set). The final score came out to 25-22, 25-14, 22-25, 25-19.

South County got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Mathew Ramirez out in front who had four digs and four aces. Those four aces gave Ramirez a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Devin Ko, who had eight digs and one assist.

They weren't the only good servers: South County was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 13 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lake Braddock only served seven.

South County's win bumped their record up to 12-2. As for Lake Braddock, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season.

South County is taking a road trip to face off against Hayfield at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Lake Braddock, they will face off against Fairfax at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
