Basketball Recap: Murrieta Valley Comes Up Short

Murrieta Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They took a blow against the San Gabriel Academy Eagles, falling 99-52. The contest marked the Nighthawks' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Murrieta Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 9-18. As for San Gabriel Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Murrieta Valley will challenge Vista Murrieta at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Nighthawks will be up against the Broncos' rather soft defense (which has allowed 62.63 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for San Gabriel Academy, they will square off against Pacifica Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
