Softball Recap: Livingston Academy Wildcats vs. Clay County Bulldogs

Livingston Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 5-2 to the Clay County Bulldogs. Livingston Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Clay County apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March.

For Clay County's part, Avery Davis spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on seven hits.

On the hitting side, Baylor Walden was excellent, scoring a run while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaid Walker, who went 1-for-4 with a triple and a run.

Livingston Academy's loss dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Clay County, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-7-1.

Livingston Academy will challenge DeKalb County at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Clay County, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 6-0 defeat vs. Gordonsville on the 23rd.
