Preview: Wabasha-Kellogg Falcons vs. Lewiston-Altura Cardinals
Wabasha-Kellogg and Lewiston-Altura are an even 4-4 against one another since December of 2014, but not for long. The Wabasha-Kellogg Falcons will head out on the road to face off against the Lewiston-Altura Cardinals at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Wabasha-Kellogg is hoping to put an end to a 14-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Last Tuesday, Wabasha-Kellogg took a serious blow against Chatfield, falling 69-38. Wabasha-Kellogg has not had much luck with Chatfield recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Despite their loss, Wabasha-Kellogg saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Ileana DeAngel, who scored 21 points along with eight rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. The matchup was DeAngel's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Brielle Adams, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Lewiston-Altura's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 72-28 loss at the hands of Plainview-Elgin-Millville. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Lewiston-Altura has scored all season.
Wabasha-Kellogg's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Lewiston-Altura, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.
Wabasha-Kellogg took a serious blow against Lewiston-Altura in their previous meeting back in January, falling 71-41. Can Wabasha-Kellogg avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
