Basketball Recap: Silver Creek Comes Up Short

Silver Creek was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They opened the new year with a less-than-successful 73-61 loss to the Mission San Jose Warriors. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1102nd, while the Warriors are ranked 402nd).

Silver Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Mission San Jose, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 7-5 record this season.

Silver Creek will venture away from home to challenge Mt. Pleasant at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Mission San Jose, they will square off against Arroyo at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Mission San Jose knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Arroyo likes a good challenge.
