Softball Recap: Eastern View Snaps Eight-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Eastern View dropped their record down to 11-2 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season. They fell just short of the King George Foxes by a score of 1-0. The game marked the first time this season in which the Cyclones were not able to get on the board.

Cailin Rendell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on one hit and racked up 15 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Eastern View saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kierstin Settle, who went 1-for-2 with one double. That double marked the first that Settle has hit this season.

As for King George, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 11-5. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games.

On King George's side, the result came thanks to Kelsea Minter's shutout, as she gave up just two hits and racked up eight Ks.
