Basketball Recap: Tascosa Takes a Loss

Tascosa lost against Amarillo back in November and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Tascosa Rebels fell 52-41 to the Amarillo Sandies. While losing is never fun, the Rebels can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 131st, while the Sandies are ranked 50th).

Tascosa's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 10-5. As for Amarillo, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season.

Tascosa will be home for the holidays to greet Lubbock-Cooper at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Amarillo, they are taking a road trip to square off against Monterey at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Amarillo is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.
