The Solon Comets will challenge the Stow-Munroe Falls Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Solon is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Magnificat 15-5 on Tuesday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Comets as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Grace Gerhard made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over four innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one triple and two RBI. That triple was her first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ali Palsa, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kassidy Samuelraj, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.
Solon hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Stow-Munroe Falls got themselves on the board against Nordonia on Tuesday, but Nordonia never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Knights. The win continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Knights: they've now won seven in a row.
Olivia Patterson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over six innings pitched. Patterson was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with four RBI.
In other batting news, Stow-Munroe Falls let Kenzie Orosz and Terah Bentley run wild. Orosz scored two runs while going 1-for-2, while Bentley scored three runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Mancuso, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.
Stow-Munroe Falls' victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Solon, their win bumped their record up to 2-6.
Solon skirted past Stow-Munroe Falls 11-10 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Do the Comets have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
