Football Recap: Clearview Extends Winning Streak to Three

Clearview extended their winning streak to three on Friday, bumping them up to 4-5. They came within six points of losing the streak, but they secured a 27-21 W against the Columbia Raiders. The score was all tied up 14-14 at the break, but the Clippers were the better team in the second half.

It was another big night for Kameron Williams, who rushed for 164 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 10.3 yards per carry, and also threw for 100 yards and one TD. He has become a key player for Clearview: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least 100 rushing yards, but 2-4 otherwise.

Having lost for the first time this season, Columbia fell to 8-1. They gained 84 more yards on the day, but it was Clearview that made the best use of them.

Columbia's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Xavier Hendon, who rushed for 151 yards and one score. Hendon was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 51 yards. Another player making a difference was Jose Rivera, who gained 126 total yards and two touchdowns.

Clearview wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 20-19 victory against Keystone on the 24th. As for Columbia, they have also already played their next game, a 42-15 win against Firelands on the 24th.
