Softball Recap: Seaman Gets the Win

Seaman proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by eight) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Lansing Lions, sneaking past 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Vikings have posted since May 20, 2025.

Easton Beightel made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Aubrey Warren, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That double marked the first that she has hit this season. Acey Thompson was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

Seaman's record is now 6-2. As for Lansing, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Seaman will face off against Eudora at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lansing, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on West at 4:00 p.m. on the 28th.
