Basketball Recap: Sandy Creek Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Sandy Creek and Luella squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Sandy Creek had to settle for second. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 58-57 to the Luella Lions. The loss continues a trend for the Patriots in their matchups with the Lions: they've now lost three in a row.

Sandy Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 22-8. As for Luella, the win was the 16th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 26-3.

Sandy Creek does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Luella, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Lions duke it out with the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Fayette County is on a three-game streak of home wins, Luella a 11-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season)-- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
