Softball Recap: Magnolia Takes a Loss

Magnolia lost against Estancia back in March of 2018, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Magnolia came up short against Estancia, falling 12-4. The Sentinels have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Sofia Miranda was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two RBI and one double. She also put up a hit, which was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Amalia Ortiz, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Magnolia's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Estancia, their record is now 2-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Magnolia will head out to challenge Rancho Alamitos at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Magnolia is facing Rancho Alamitos at the right time seeing as Rancho Alamitos is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Estancia, they will venture away from home to square off against La Quinta at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. La Quinta has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.86 runs per game on average), something Estancia will no doubt try to take advantage of.
