Softball Recap: Barron Collier Comes Up Short

Barron Collier had lost eight straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Thursday they dropped down to 1-1 to make it nine. They fell just short of the Gulf Coast Sharks by a score of 4-2. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Cougars couldn't push the score so high this time.

As for Gulf Coast, their record now sits at 1-0. The victory continues a trend for them in their matchups with Barron Collier: they've now won four in a row.

For Gulf Coast's part, Keyah Kamara made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 19 over seven innings pitched. Kamara was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one triple and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Mia Fasolino, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
