Basketball Recap: Southeast Career Tech Finds Home Court Redemption Against Coral Academy of Science Las Vegas

There's no place like home for Southeast Career Tech, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They managed a 56-52 victory over the Coral Academy of Science Las Vegas Falcons on Friday. For the Roadrunners, this counts as revenge for the 48-42 win the Falcons walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2023.

Coral Academy of Science Las Vegas' loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jayden Aranas, who posted 18 points in addition to five boards and four steals. Aranas is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 25 games he's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Wingate, who had 15 points and eight rebounds.

Southeast Career Tech's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Coral Academy of Science Las Vegas, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season.

Southeast Career Tech wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 73-57 defeat against Reynolds on the 21st. As for Coral Academy of Science Las Vegas, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on American Heritage Academy at 6:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Coral Academy of Science Las Vegas is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58 points per game this season.
