Softball Recap: South Vermillion Comes Up Short

South Vermillion fell victim to Riverton Parke and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They came up short against the Panthers, falling 10-0. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Wildcats' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

South Vermillion's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Riverton Parke, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 6-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South Vermillion will face off against Fountain Central at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Mustangs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.8 runs per game on average), something the Wildcats will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Riverton Parke, they will square off against West Vigo at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Panthers 0.7, the Vikings 2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
