Elko proved they can win big last Saturday (they won by ten) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They never let the Spring Creek Spartans get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory. Give Elko's defense some credit: that's the team's fourth straight shutout.

Their one-goal win came courtesy of Sydney Hawkins, who's now up to five this season.

Elko's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-5. Those road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 30 goals over those four matchups. As for Spring Creek, they now have a losing record of 5-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Elko will take on Churchill County at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Elko will need to watch out since Churchill County have now posted at least four goals in their last three games. As for Spring Creek, they will square off against Fernley at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Spring Creek are facing Fernley at the right time seeing as Fernley are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
