East Lyme has gone 9-1 against Norwich Free Academy recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Vikings will face off against the Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. East Lyme is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.7 runs per game this season.

East Lyme is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Connecticut's top teams: South Windsor, who was ranked ninth at the time (East Lyme was ranked 17th). The Vikings fell just short of the Bobcats by a score of 5-4 on Saturday. The Vikings' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

East Lyme saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Garrison Biggs, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

Norwich Free Academy came out on top against Immaculate on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive nine-run fifth inning. The Wildcats blew past the Mustangs 12-2. Considering the Wildcats' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

East Lyme's defeat dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Norwich Free Academy, their win bumped their record up to 9-4.

East Lyme was able to grind out a solid victory over Norwich Free Academy in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, winning 4-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Vikings since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
