Basketball Recap: Waunakee's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Saturday

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Waunakee can now relate to. They fell just short of the Arrowhead Warhawks by a score of 72-69 on Saturday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Thursday (67), the Warriors still had to take the loss.

The loss snapped Waunakee's winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 21-6 record. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 77.6 points over those games. As for Arrowhead, they are on a roll lately: they've won 19 of their last 20 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-3 record this season.

Waunakee will challenge Muskego on Friday. Waunakee knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 12 matchups -- so hopefully Muskego likes a good challenge. Arrowhead does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
