Baseball Game Preview: Summit Shasta Black Bears vs. Pinewood Panthers

For the second straight game, Summit Shasta will face off against Pinewood. The Black Bears will welcome the Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Summit Shasta is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.2 runs per game this season.

While Summit Shasta's win against Pinewood wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Black Bears had just enough and edged out the Panthers 4-3. The victory continues a trend for the Black Bears in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won eight in a row.

Caden Frost was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Jalen Mingao was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Pinewood's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Summit Shasta, they picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 6-7.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Summit Shasta has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Pinewood struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 5.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
