Football Game Preview: Ladysmith Lumberjacks vs. Grantsburg Pirates

Ladysmith is 0-7 against Grantsburg since November of 2020 but things could change on Friday. The Lumberjacks will venture away from home to take on the Pirates at 7:00 p.m. Ladysmith has given up an average of 30 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Ladysmith lost 34-12 to Webster on Friday.

Meanwhile, Grantsburg strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They enjoyed a cozy 32-14 win over Chetek-Weyerhaeuser. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Pirates' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin football rankings (they are ranked 50th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 126th).

Ladysmith's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Grantsburg, their victory bumped their record up to 6-0.

Things could have been worse for Ladysmith, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 42-28 loss to Grantsburg in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can the Lumberjacks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
