Recap: Pearl Pirates vs. Brandon Bulldogs
The Pearl Pirates and the Brandon Bulldogs squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Pearl Pirates had to settle for second. Pearl took a hard 42-25 fall against Brandon. Pearl has struggled against Brandon recently, as their contest on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Brandon found their leader in underclassman Tyson Robinson, who rushed for 64 yards and three touchdowns. Robinson was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 50 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Varnes, who threw for 200 yards and two touchdowns.
Pearl's loss dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Brandon, the victory was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-2.
Pearl does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Brandon will take on Oak Grove at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Oak Grove's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last four games.
